Construction of the Yonghegong Temple began in 1694 during the Qing Dynasty. It’s name means “Palace of Peace and Harmony.” It is popularly referred to as the Lama Temple and is the home of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. These photos are from my visit to Beijing in 2008.
